Visuals & Gameplay Feedback Update
Cold Calling - Chapter 1 Demo » Devlog
We've got a new update for you featuring visual polish, a new health system, and additional player feedback during gameplay.
Graphical Updates:
- Wires are pixelated to match the rest of the artstyle.
- Call dots squash and stretch slightly according to their movement, giving them a more physical presence.
Doomsday Clock Overhaul:
- Previously, the player failed a level if they dropped 3 calls. We've changed the Doomsday Clock system to give it more nuance and reward skillful play.
- Each Operation is now on a time limit, with the Doomsday Clock ticking down over the course of the level. Like before, dropping a call shaves a chunk of additional time off the clock.
- Completing multiple consecutive calls in a wave will restore some time.
- This new system also lets us fine-tune the difficulty of individual levels by adjusting their time limits.
Gameplay Feedback:
- An electricity arc now appears along a wire a Call Dot is traveling along. This way it's possible to tell exactly when a call dot enters and exits a wire.
- Call dots will flash and make an alarm sound when they're nearing the end of their path.
